Tennis No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz also sympathizes with Fernando Alonso.
After winning the Summit tournament in Miami, he signed not with a camera lens, but with the message: “33? Coming soon.”
Alonso saw the message emerge across social media. “Lock that guy up,” he laughed. “You are a phenomenon!”

Verstappen: “I would be very happy for Alonso”
The question remains: What are the chances of Fernando Alonso scoring his 33rd Formula 1 victory in Barcelona?
Not a big one, because Red Bull – and Max Verstappen in particular – are outpacing the rest of the season this season.
Yet they outshine everything and everyone. Sergio Perez has two victories, his teammate Verstappen has already won 4 times this season.
Not that the reigning world champion would not like Alonso. “He deserves more wins,” says Verstappen, who was ranked 33 until two years ago.
“In a way I would like to see him win more. I would be very happy if Alonso took his 33rd win.”

Alonso: “Don’t immediately think about winning”
And Fernando Alonso himself? He keeps his feet on the ground. He also knows that it is not easy to breach Red Bull’s dominance.
“Will it be number 33 in Barcelona? I don’t think so,” said the veteran Spaniard in Monaco last week.
“In qualifying he was very close, but in the race itself Red Bull dominated again,” said Alonso, who finished second on the slow street circuit.
He fears, “Even in Barcelona, you don’t have to immediately think about winning. Then I will disappoint everyone.”
Will the number 33 be in Barcelona? I do not think so. Red Bull drives dominantly.
Spanish fans need not despair. Even Verstappen makes mistakes sometimes, like last year in Brazil.
And then, the number 33 becomes totally popular.
