Grand Slams. Bryce survives defeating junior world champion Clayton, Wade and Kroos also to the quarter-finals | More sports

dartsThe fifth day ended at the Grand Slam of Arrows. Jeroen Price struggled with Bradley Brooks, but reached the quarter-finals as did Johnny Clayton, James Wade and Rob Cross. Tomorrow the last matches of the second round are on the agenda.

Clayton simply puts Rafferty aside

Johnny Clayton did what he had to do against Nathan Rafferty. The 2021 man advanced at 5-1 speed and did not concede that bonus. The Northern Irish only gained two feet. With a 121 finish, Clayton got the job done: 10-2. “The Ferret” will face Jeroen Price in the Grand Slam quarter-finals. Wales clash.

Moderate price survives defeat by Brooks

21-year-old Gerwin Bryce Bradley Brooks was surprised. The winning world champion quickly scored 167 points against the youth world champion. After that, the Welshman was full of English talent. And this was largely due to Price – he underperformed. It was a game within a game, with roars on the sides. In the end, Price came out on top with a 10-8 (see photos above).

Wade Rodriguez gives only two feet

James Wade also secured a place in the quarter-finals. The Englishman simply put Austrian Robbie John Rodriguez on the knee. The “machine” showed itself strongly on its two pairs – especially on its beloved “tops”. Wade pulled out by 67% and won by a clear margin: 10-2. In the quarter-finals he will meet Rob Cross, who previously defeated him in the group stage.

Kroos has a bit of a problem with Joyce

Rob Cross qualified first for the quarter-finals after defeating Ryan Joyce. Both masters kept each other in balance in the initial stage, after which Cross put a serious intermediate gear. The latter actually won seven straight runs: 2-3 to 9-3. A powerful cross made it super easy with a 10-4. This result is also good news for Kim Heberschitz, who thus maintains his 32nd position in the world rankings. Not unimportant for the World Cup, where the best 32 players are free in the first round.
