At the end of last week, the number of new cases rose. There have been two days with more than 2,800 positive tests. This was the highest level in nearly three weeks. In recent days, the number of new cases decreased slightly again, which ultimately limited the growth.
The number of hospital admissions has hardly changed. At least 415 coronavirus patients were so sick last week that they were admitted. Of those, 97 ended up in intensive care. In the previous week, 426 people had been admitted, and 97 were placed in intensive care.
The number of reported deaths from Corona has also remained almost the same. RIVM was informed last week that 43 COVID-19 patients have died as a result of contracting the virus. Slight decrease in the number of corona patients in hospitals
The number of corona patients in hospitals fell again, Tuesday, after a sharp increase on Monday. Hospitals are currently treating 671 people for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. This is 18 less than the day before. The total number of people infected with coronavirus has now ranged between 650 and 700 for about a month.
The number of corona patients admitted on Monday increased from 47 to 689. This was the largest one-day increase in over a month.
Nursing departments currently have 459 COVID-19 patients under their care, ten fewer than on Monday. Those wards admitted 65 new patients and saw 75 people leave. It is not known how many were allowed to return home and how many had to go to IC.
Intensive care units received 8 new patients in the past day. This is the lowest number since July 23. On the other hand, 16 patients with corona left the integrated circuits. It is not known how many have died and how many have sufficiently recovered. The total number of Corona patients in intensive care decreased by eight to 212, the lowest number in about two weeks.

Between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, 2,349 new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). This is slightly lower than last Tuesday, and as a result the average has also decreased slightly.
In the past week, 17,575 positive results were recorded. This means an average of 2,511 new cases per day. This is the third day in a row that this average has fallen.

The number of reported deaths has increased by 12. This concerns two people from Amsterdam and also residents of Zwolle, Haarlem, Apeldoorn, Amersfoort, Heusen, Hilversum, Demin, Roermond, Beckdaelen and Wormerland. Just because they are reported dead now doesn’t mean they died in the last 24 hours. Sometimes it takes some time before a death from corona infection is registered. It’s the largest number of reports since June 8.
Last week, RIVM recorded the death of 43 people from Corona, which is comparable to recent weeks.
