• Belgium began the “red kite” evacuation mission on Friday, but it is progressing with difficulty. The first flight left with 16 Belgians and their relatives from Kabul, and a second plane had to take off empty.
• Another 17 Belgians managed to leave Afghanistan on a Dutch plane.
• The intention is to evacuate at least 580 people through Kabul airport, including dozens of Belgians and their (Afghan) families.
• Increasing local resistance to the Taliban. Resistance leaders are gathering in North Bansjir, the only province the movement has not yet controlled.
