Apple has released the new Mac Studio for the desktop computer. It’s a somewhat business-like version of the current Mac Mini, but has better performance.
The The new Mac Studio desktop Available in different configurations. The workstation is based on the Apple M1 Max processor and also the announced M1 Ultra processor that doubles the number of CPU cores and GPUs compared to the M1 Max.
In total, the Mac Studio configuration can consist of 20 CPU cores and 64 GPU cores. A desktop computer offers up to 128 GB of RAM. The maximum SSD capacity is 8TB. Mac Studio has a maximum capacity of 800 Gbps.
In addition, Mac Studio also has more connections than the current Mac Mini. The larger desktop features four Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, an SDCX card reader port, an HDMI port, and a headphone out. Per the specifications, this allows for control of a total of four Apple 6K ProDisplay XDR displays simultaneously and one 4K display via the HDMI port.
Connectivity consists of Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 10Gb Ethernet port. The included operating system is macOS Monterey.
The new Mac Studio is available from March 18 and starts at €2,329. Depending on the configuration, the price rises to 9,229 euros.
