Confirmed: Intel’s Meteor Lake CPU gets Redwood Cove and Crestmont cores

Register files on the Intel website For confirmation That futuristic Meteor Lake CPUs are built from the heart of Redwood Cove and Crestmont. Both names have been used for some time in rumors about 14th generation Intel processors, expected in 2023.

Twitter @InstLatX64 files found On the Intel Open Source Project website, 01.org. These are logs from Microsoft’s Performance Monitor tool, which can be used to measure CPU and memory usage, among other things. The file names “meteorlake_crestmont_core_v1.00.json” and “meteorlake_redwoodcove_core_v1.00.json” say enough.

Moore’s law was named the Redwood Cove kernel first, in november 2020. Performance cores should follow the Raptor LC cores in the Raptor.

The efficiency portion of Meteor Lake CPUs is made up of Crestmont cores. These succeed Gracemont, used by Lake Alder and Raptor Lake.

Intel CPU Roadmap, by video card

The Meteor Lake CPU series will be the first to use Intel’s 4 (7nm) manufacturing process. CPUs will consist of different “squares”, such as a “computing tile” with CPU cores, an Intel Arc chip, “SOC tiles” and an “IO tile”. Meteor Lake processors should ultimately deliver 20% more performance per watt.
