Pogba confirms himself in the French dressing room
Did Paul Pogba give France victory in the Nations League with a strong speech? Video footage shows how the fierce Pogba teaches his comrades.
Was Paul Pogba on Sunday evening a resounding speech based on the victory of Al-Zarqa’ in the Nations League final against Spain? It can just be. Or the video images that appeared on Twitter show how Pogba shot his teammates. “We need to be more aggressive,” he said, as Antoine Griezmann, among others, listens carefully to the Manchester United midfielder’s words. “It starts with our attackers, right up to the defenders at the back. We get the ball back and attack it. And yes, we will have to walk a lot, because they are very good in the team. But we are too! We will keep up with the ball and we will hurt them.”
Pogba’s plan didn’t seem to pay off at first, as Spain were dominant and often took possession of the ball. Shortly after the hour, Oyarzabal set Luis Enrique’s sons on their way to victory. But flashes of Benzema and Mbappe ensured France’s victory in the end. The French also turned a deficit in the semi-final against the Red Devils. In Turin, the score went from 2-0 to 2-3.
Remarkably, Pogba of all people threw himself into the French dressing room. Pogba has been criticized for his lack of leadership on the pitch during his tenure at United. Not least from analyst and former United player Roy Keane. “I always see a big difference between Pogba at United and Pogba in the France national team. I still expect more from him once he wears the Manchester United shirt.”
