Available in different colours, the Huawei Watch GT 4 46mm is a stylish watch with a clear and sharp AMOLED display. Basic smartwatch functions are in good order, the watch always responds quickly and the interface works well. Compared to WearOS and iOS, the range of third-party apps is very limited and integration with existing Android apps is actually absent. The watch can of course display notifications, you can review your agenda, and set timers and alarms. You can also make calls via your phone's Bluetooth connection.
The Watch GT 4 also has excellent sports and health functionality, and even offers the option to connect external sensors, which we really only see with Garmin and Polar at this price point. The accuracy of the heart rate monitor and GPS recording is also at a high level. The Huawei Health app offers good insights into sleep, stress and sports, including information about aerobic and anaerobic loads and required recovery time, which we mainly know from real sports watches.
The watch has an excellent battery life that allows, depending on the settings chosen, up to ten days of use without charging. It is also an interesting watch for those who are looking for a stylish watch with good sports and health functions. If you combine these strengths with the very competitive price of around €250, you get a watch that is definitely worthy of attention, despite its limitations.
