Microsoft wants to speed up Fallout 5's development process

There have been numerous reports and signs that work on The Elder Scrolls VI is now well underway at Bethesda, while they also continue to work on Starfield, both in terms of maintenance and new content.

In addition, they are also working on a Fallout 5 game in some form, as we previously reported that the makers of the Fallout series on Amazon Prime had obtained some information in advance so that the story would not conflict with the upcoming game.

But when will he come out? Unfortunately, that seems like a very long time ago, and Bethesda has repeatedly said that it will release The Elder Scrolls VI first – which will likely be several years in the future. But now there is a glimmer of hope.

After the great success of the Fallout series and the increased interest in the games, Microsoft is now looking to accelerate work on the next adventure, and in the final version of the game Xbox 2 podcast Trusted Windows Central editor Jez Corden says the Xbox team wants to find a solution:

“They're currently formulating plans on how to put the next Fallout here in front of us sooner rather than later. That's what they're talking about, from what I understand.”

A possible solution could be for Obsidian – which previously produced Fallout: New Vegas (and has collaborators from the makers of the first two mainline games in the series) – to be tasked with creating a breakout so Bethesda can continue work on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI before getting serious about Fallout 5.

A solution we appreciate anyway, since Fallout: New Vegas is often considered the best game in the series over the past 20 years. What do you think Microsoft and Bethesda should do to satisfy Fallout fans' desire for new adventures?
