‘Music Helps Me Heal’: Ed Sheeran dedicates a new song to a deceased friend | showbiz

He’s referring to his friend Jamal Edwards, who died of heart failure in February of last year at the age of 31. “Blue was Jamal’s color, and now it’s all I have. I feel. One of my best friends, Jamal, died at the same time. On top of that, I was also in court defending my career as a songwriter. I was overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety and depression. I felt like I was drowning. Like I was looking at the surface, but I couldn’t get there to catch my breath.”
