In exactly one week, Reggie and Krystle will be saying yes to each other live on TV under the bright South African sun. But in order to make the dream wedding happen, Reggie had to ask the big question first. He proposed while traveling to South Africa, and Christel quickly realized something was up. “Then I sent a message to my friends: 'Either he took something, or there's something wrong with him.' He just lost himself.” Krystle already knew Reggie had prepared a special lunch, and when she caught a glimpse of the balcony of their hotel room beforehand, the pieces of the puzzle fell together perfectly. “They were already setting everything up to make it a romantic setting,” she says.
Krystle's premonition was only confirmed by the intense nerves of Reggie, who moments later accompanied her to the balcony with shaking hands. “I thought: 'I'll be so happy for him when all this stress is gone.'” Everything went according to plan, but the question itself was more reminiscent of a school play than a romantic gesture, Reggie thought. “After I asked, I became a completely different person.”
