A “hearty” conversation between former bachelors

What do the crowned heads talk about when they meet again after a long time? Prince Albert, 65, of Monaco looked back in a newspaper interview about the “warm and informal” conversation he had with British King Charles (74) at his reception at Buckingham Palace, the night before the coronation.

“He reminded my wife, Charlene, that we were old friends at funerals and weddings. Since two people were usually invited to these celebrations and we were single, we were often put next to each other,” Albert said.

The two heads of state also spoke briefly about the environment and the oceans. According to Albert, “Charles could no longer express himself as he used to on these subjects close to his heart.”
