Sony promises thick sound from thin speakers in its new home cinema lineup

The speakers are wireless and are just over seven centimeters thick, but should sound just as good as high-end speakers: the new Sony Bravia home cinema range. The speaker line will be available in the market soon.

the Sony bravia quad theaterThe set consists of four slim speakers that you can hang on the wall like a dish or place underneath. The two speakers are designed to be front speakers next to the TV, while the other speakers should be placed behind you. You can connect them via WiFi to a small receiver that should be connected to the ARC channel of your TV. Together, the speakers provide a wide sound picture.

The speaker has four drivers, one of which is facing upwards. This design choice relies on technologies such as Sony's 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, as well as 360 Reality Audio and Dolby Atmos. The latter technology is also supported by speakers.

Each provides 126 watts of power. Since the speakers support WiFi 5, you can also use Apple Airplay and Spotify Connect.

High price

If you have a Sony Bravia Smart TV, you can use its soundbar as a center channel. You can also connect a Sony subwoofer to the receiver that comes with the kit.

The speakers will be released on May 13, but can already be ordered via Sony's website. At a minimum price of €2,699, the set is €1,300 more expensive than Sony's new Theater Bar 9 speakers.
