OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, wants to raise $100 billion or more through a new funding round, insiders told Bloomberg. Such a deal would make the American company one of the world's most valuable startups ever.

At the moment, these are preliminary discussions about a new financing round, in which potential investors are already participating. Details such as terms, valuation and timing of the deal are still to be worked out.
If the plan to raise additional funding is successful, OpenAI will be the second most valuable startup in the United States. According to the researchers, only Elon Musk's commercial space company, SpaceX, is worth more as an unlisted company.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Musk is also working on a funding round for his xAI company, a startup that will compete with OpenAI. At the beginning of November, the American billionaire presented his own artificial intelligence product, called Grok. This innovation has access to information from X, in which Musk has a majority stake.
