Starting in 2024, the Michelin Guide will offer a separate award for hotel evaluations. This was announced by director Gwendal Poulenic.
Therefore, the selection of Michelin hotels will become more similar to the system traditionally used for restaurants. There is an important distinction: Michelin will not hand out stars to hotels, but it will hand out keys. The design of the keys will remind us of the famous Michelin stars.
In this way, the French group wants to become “a true reference for reliability” in the hotel sector, she says.
The revised Michelin Hotel Group will recommend more than 5,000 hotels in 120 different countries. The list of winning hotels will be announced in the first half of next year. The exact date has not been determined yet.
