Until January 3, 9 you can watch Ted Lasso for free

You don’t have an Apple TV+, but are you super curious about that Ted Lasso series everyone’s talking about? Then you are in luck, if you have time in the next few days. You can watch for free until January 3rd.

Because of the Christmas holidays, Apple is giving away several seasons of the most popular series for free. It does not depend on your exact region. For example, in our country it is possible to watch whole seasons of For All Mankind, The Morning Show, and Tehran along with Ted Lasso. You can normally only watch Apple TV+ with a subscription of €6.99 per month (although you also get three months free if you buy an Apple product). Six months ago it was still a lot cheaper: then you only paid €4.99.

Would you like to try it on? For example, you can go to tv.apple.com in your browser and sign in with your Apple ID (the account you have with Apple). If you don’t have one yet, you can create one for free, even if you don’t have any Apple products. You can then ignore all notifications about trial periods (and there are quite a few), and then you can just start watching. This is also possible in the app. The application can be downloaded for free on Apple products, but also on Android phones, game consoles such as PlayStation, Xbox, Amazon Fire TV Stick and many smart TVs, including LG.

So it’s not a streaming service that’s filled with all kinds of different brands of animated movies and all sorts of series that you’ve already watched hundreds of times. Apple wants to keep it a little “independent”. That’s a good thing: There are several Apple TV+ series that have gone viral, including the latest Ben Stiller-created Severance. Black Bird, The Essex Serpent, Shining Girls, Pachinko, and Mythic Quest are all popular new series on the streaming service.

A clever bait, from Apple, that in this way inspires us to become a member of another streaming service. One catch: In 2023, you’ll need one less streaming service. Then go HBO Max and Discovery+ together (and may be called Max).
