Week 12 of 2024 achieved the highest sales of these games in Belgium last week

Every week the Belgian Video Games Federation (VGFB) brings us a list of the top 5 best-selling games in Belgium.

In Week 12 of 2024, there are several newcomers in the top five. In first place is the single-player RPG Dragon's Dogma 2, the game fans have had to wait 12 years for. The long wait was worth it, because the game was very well received by the global gaming media with many nines and tens. Some outlets call it the best single-player RPG world after Elden Ring.

EA Sports FC 24 took second place in Week 12. According to EA, EA Sports FC 24 has 20% of the number of players who are completely new, meaning they do not have a save game from FIFA 23. EA Sports FC 24 is the beginning of a new chapter for Electronic Arts after cutting Relationship with FIFA. EA Sports FC features over 30 leagues, over 700 teams, and over 19,000 licensed footballers. Realism and physics just got better this year with Hypermotion V, which uses data from over 180 footballers. In the summer of 2024, EA Sports will receive FC 24, a free update for EURO 2024.

Number 3 is Princess Peach Showtime, which is the only game where Mario is not the hero but Princess Peach. The stage is taken over by the villain Wicked Grape. Peach goes to every show in the theater to save the actors and the show from the corruption of the Wicked Grape. The princess does this in collaboration with Stella, who has magical powers and can transform Peach. There are 10 transformations in the game including Kung Fu Peach, Chef Peach, Ninja Peach and Mermaid Peach.

In fourth place is another newcomer: the PlayStation 5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin. This is an open-world game developed by Team Ninja, the studio behind Ninja Gaiden and Nioh. Rise of the Ronin takes place in ancient Japan, which has opened its borders to ships from the West. The influence of the West causes great changes in Japan. You play as Ronin, an unskilled swordsman who sets out to find a masked ninja.

Finally at number five is the multiplayer co-op shooter Helldivers 2. In Helldivers 2 you play a soldier who has to protect Super Earth from evil aliens on distant planets. You do this by invading surrounding planets and banishing aliens. Helldivers 2 can be played on PC and PlayStation 5. There were several server issues upon release, but these have now been resolved.
