Every week the Belgian Video Games Federation (VGFB) brings us a list of the top 5 best-selling games in Belgium.
In week 17 of 2024, there will be newcomers in the top 5 best-selling games in Belgium. Sports game TopSpin 2K25 took first place. Fans have had to wait 13 years for a new TopSpin Tennis game, and now the time has finally come. TopSpin 2K25 features many famous real-life tennis players, and a major update comes every few weeks with new playable characters, stages, modes, and more.
There’s also a newcomer in second place: the action game Stellar Blade. This game is available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and is the first game from Korean developer Shift Up. Stellar Blade is a game in which you play as Eve who arrives in a post-apocalyptic Earth to stop evil aliens once and for all.
In third place is Fallout 4, a game from 2015. This is no coincidence, because the Fallout live-action TV series on Amazon Prime Video was a huge success and created a huge buzz. Players who already owned Fallout 4 returned to the Wasteland, and new players purchased Fallout 4 after watching the live-action TV series. Bethesda recently launched a free next-gen update for Fallout 4 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series consoles. Gamers can now enjoy better graphics and performance on these consoles.
In fourth place is GTA V, a game that has been selling fantastically for 10 years. In fact, GTA V still outsells many new games from major studios. GTA V is now very close to achieving 200 million copies sold. No premium game comes close to GTA V’s numbers. GTA 6 may also not be able to match GTA V’s impressive numbers.
Finally in fifth place is GTA Online, GTA V’s multiplayer mode, so to speak, which can also be purchased separately in digital stores. Rockstar Games has been releasing content updates for GTA Online for 10 years with new missions, more to do in the open world, new cars, new weapons, and much more.
