Wilson, the 6-year-old dog who found the missing Colombian children, is now lost in the jungle himself

The four children, ages 13, 9, 4 and 1 were found alive in the Colombian jungle on Friday after forty days. And that was thanks in large part to Wilson. Its traces are found in the children’s footsteps, eventually leading the army to the children.

Unfortunately, the Malinois itself has never been found. The animal disappeared in the Colombian jungle. So the Colombian military continues to search. “Wilson is part of our family. He has been involved in many operations and has already protected and saved many lives,” said Colombian General Pedro Sanchez.

As with the children, the Army now leaves the food back in the woods in the hope that Wilson will come to it. “Operation Hope continues to recover Wilson, and we don’t leave a fallen comrade behind on the battlefield,” the Colombian military writes on Twitter.
