In our Xbox Series S review, we noted that despite being less powerful than the Xbox Series X, the Xbox Series S still manages to impress.

Sure, games look better on the more powerful Xbox Series X, but Xbox Series S still offers great characters, backgrounds, and items. In Yakuza: Like Dragon, Xbox Series X showed clearer, more colorful ads on the streets of Yokohama, but character models were still rich and detailed in Series S. Plus, frame rates on both systems didn’t have a noticeable slowdown.

Overall, Xbox Series S content upgrades to 4K beautifully — and if you have a 1440p screen, you don’t need to upgrade at all.

If you’re still excited about the Xbox Series X, it’s helpful to know that it’s possible to beat the bots if you follow some of our stock replenishment cheat sheets. Also stay tuned for where to purchase Xbox Series X coverage for the latest updates.
