An additional 160,000 square meters for His Excellency Mr. Esers

An additional 160,000 square meters for His Excellency Mr. Esers

The ceremonial inauguration of the brand-new base of the logistics provider H.Essers took place on Thursday in the industrial park Kristalpark III in Lommel. With this site, which will eventually constitute a storage space of 160,000 square meters, the family business provides an answer to the growing demand of chemical companies for suitable solutions for dangerous goods.

Andy Peremans, Business Unit Director at H.Essers explains: “On the one hand, chemical companies are looking for storage options that comply with strict and complex (legal) guidelines. On the other hand, the demand for total solutions for their distribution chain, with added value possibilities, is growing. We make it possible on this website, which will also create 400 new direct jobs in the region.”

H.Essers already had dangerous goods warehouse sites in Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain and Romania, together representing 600,000 square meters of storage space for the chemicals sector. With the site in Lommel, 15,000 square meters will be added immediately, and in the long term up to 160,000 square meters. Andy Bremans points out that this space is in high demand. “Already during construction work on our new dry port site in Genk, it looked like all the space would be filled quickly. That’s why we started looking for an additional site. We found a suitable 27-hectare site in Lommel. Perfect for continuing to serve our customers and support their growing growth.” So the website will be built evenly according to the concrete needs given by customers.
