Broadcaster Peter van de Veer pauses after 13 years on MNM: ‘Friday 1 April is the last broadcast, no joke’

How did you start
In 2008, Peter Van de Veire was one of the forces that co-founded the new radio station MNM. On Monday January 5, 2009, “De grote Peter Van de Veire Morning Show” was the first program to be heard on Al Shabab channel. Over the years, Peter in the Morning has been joined by several other MNM DJs: Licelot Ohms, Gunther Terry, Eva Dailemann, Nasreen Knobs, Julie van den Steen, Kausar Elaloch and Wan Senaf.

Nearly thirteen years of MNM also mean a lot of difficult moments. For example, he once performed the morning show from a huge bowl of chocolate, while walking behind a garbage cart, from a motorcycle, in a truck, with 100 small children, once breaking the world radio record.

Van de Veire made his first steps in the media in 1993 with the regional channel AVS. In 1997 he moved to Ketnet to present Studio.KET. Two years later, it was first listened to on the radio and presented “De afrekening” at Studio Brussel. Since 2002, he has taken care of the afternoon set with “The Great Peter van de Veer Show”. He moved with Sophie Lemerre to Morning in 2006 with “The Great Morning Show by Peter van de Veer”. During the first and second editions of Music For Life (2006-2007) he stayed at the Glass House. Since 2007, Van de Veire has been combining radio and television work at Een and SBS.
