Eric van Looy debuted Thursday in the Dutch version of “De slimste mens”. You might expect that the guy who has been presenting the popular quiz show with us for nearly 20 years knows the rules, but some Dutch viewers were annoyed by a “mistake” from our compatriot.
According to many Twitter users, Van Looy always incorrectly says “stop” if he doesn’t know an answer, when he should say “only” according to the regulations. The fact that presenter Philippe Frerex Van Looy does not deal with this matter upsets some viewers. Why did he stop his time without saying ‘bitter’, when he was with Cindy (Hoetmer, writer, editor) It never happened several episodes ago? “Her time always kept running until she said ‘pass by,'” one onlooker said on Twitter.
Van Loy successfully wins the ring, whether according to the regulations or not, and is allowed to go to the next ring. Many pageant viewers—less nervous—are delighted that his stories are so popular.
