Sometimes it’s a matter of a split second. An e-walker also witnessed this on Thursday afternoon, at the roundabout near the railway tunnel in Felix de Bethonilan. The man was able to jump away from the truck.
The accident occurred after three o’clock in the afternoon in the area of Burgemeister Felix de Bethonilan, after the roundabout with Marxistenweg. The e-scooter briefly ended up under a truck near a zebra crossing, but the e-stepper managed to jump away in time.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the semi-trailer truck politely stopped to allow pedestrians to cross. Unfortunately, the electronic stepper was not immediately noticed shortly thereafter. Fortunately, things didn’t get much worse.

NOTE: Cyclist Isabelle Leper, 50, suffered life-threatening injuries at the same location on May 17 when she fell under a truck. Then, in mid-October, three schools and Burgemeister resident Felix de Petonilan took action for greater road safety in the area.
