Fake ticket sites sell Will Tora farewell concert tickets at exorbitant prices | music

Radio2’s consumer team has received numerous complaints about the expensive ticket prices for the tribute concert hosted by Will Toura (83). After doing some research, it turned out that topticketshop.nl presents itself as a “seller” and sells tickets at prices much higher than the official price.

According to Belgian law, concert tickets may not be sold on a regular basis. “You can resell tickets yourself, but only on an occasional basis and you are not allowed to make a profit,” says FPS Economy. Topticketshop.nl buys a large portion of tickets and then resells them at much higher prices. People often search for concert tickets through Google and do not realize that they end up on such a fake site.

The Wel Torah ceremony is certainly very desirable and that is why people make hasty decisions. “A Golden Circle ticket usually costs 70 euros, but on topticketshop.nl we saw the same tickets for 129 euros. This is almost double,” says Annelies Vrijdag from PSE Belgium, organizer of the Will Tura to VRT NWS concerts.

In Belgium, what topticketshop.nl does is banned. Since it is a Dutch site, the Belgian government cannot do much, because there are no laws regarding resale in the Netherlands. According to FPS Economy, they cannot express an opinion on the Dutch legislation. “We do not have the authority to monitor and punish companies abroad.”
