If you find Dyson too expensive, Dutch company Sinji has come up with an affordable alternative: a modern solution that works as an electric heater and as a cooling fan, depending on whether you want to heat or cool your home. With its elegant and compact design, the Cooling & Heating Fan is not an eyesore in your home interior. It’s small and light, so you can easily move it to the room you need it, or store it if you don’t use it for a while. Despite its limited size, the device offers excellent performance: you enjoy a cool breeze in summer and in winter, and it easily manages to keep your room at the right temperature.

An additional advantage is that this “fan” has no vanes. This increases safety, especially if there are children or pets nearby, and makes it very easy to clean.

Of course, each system also has drawbacks. For example, you need a close socket, because the “cooling and heating fan” is hanging on the cable. It also consumes energy, although that is relatively limited at 1,000 watts for heating and 20 watts for cooling.

The device does not have a thermostat, so you have to remember to turn it on and off yourself. There’s a “countdown timer” of up to nine hours, as well as a sleep mode.

If you choose electric heating, this is usually a good thing for air quality. After all, electric heating does not release any toxic substances, as is the case with natural gas. It is therefore a safe option, as long as your home is in good condition in terms of fire safety.

However, ventilating your room is still essential, as harmful substances also enter your home in other ways. The guideline is to open everything properly for fifteen minutes twice a day, as well as provide a decent ventilation system.
