Know where you need an eco-label

Know where you need an eco-label

Travel without worry, but have you already checked if you need an eco-sticker? With the Green Zones app, you can solve the problem in no time!

Green areas and environmental labels

Who is making a trip to Germany It undoubtedly begs the question. Do I need an eco-label? Especially if you want to go shopping for a day in Oberhausen, Düsseldorf or Cologne, for example, you need this German eco-sticker. But what other cities do or don't need it?

Of course there is also a useful app for that, with the Green Zones app you can find out if you need a sticker for different countries in the EU. You can currently see all the regions with stickers in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Spain in the app. Other countries may also have created an eco-zone and you can actually find a number of Dutch ZEs there.

Dutch ZE regions

Cities want to make their transportation greener within city limits by creating zones where only clean vehicles are allowed to drive from 2025. Businesses and governments work together to set rules, solve problems and set policies. They aim to provide completely emissions-free transportation by 2050. It has been decided in 29 Dutch municipalities to introduce a so-called zero emission zone, and this will happen from 2025 in 20 different municipalities and at least 9 more during 2026 and 2028.

These Dutch ZE zones will therefore apply to vans, and there is a transitional arrangement for various vehicle classes until 2030.

Green areas application

When you start the app, you are asked what type of car you drive and what stickers you have. By indicating this, it is easier to know whether you can drive somewhere or not. For example, you can use the map and click on a region to get more information, and through the Ecoregions tab you can consult all the regions in each country.

What is useful about the application is that it can be used by both passenger car drivers and professional drivers. You can find the Green Zones app for free in the Google Play Store and you can also find it for Apple at App Store.
