The Strasbourg prosecutor’s office said in a statement that it was preparing to conduct a “long-term investigation” into Lina’s disappearance. “At this stage no complaints have been filed against anyone. There are no methods excluded or prioritized at the moment,” said lawyer Yolande Renzi.
Last Sunday, the Public Prosecution opened a judicial investigation into the case of kidnapping or deprivation of liberty, indicating that the criminal path may be the most likely.
On Sunday, the French channel M6 broadcast a shocking testimony. A man claimed he saw Lena driving past his house “in a blue car” on the day she disappeared. According to the witness, sitting next to the teenage girl was an unknown man who “did not appear concerned” and “did not raise any alarm.” Last week, a 14-year-old girl who lives in the same village as Lina reported that an unknown man approached her twice a few weeks ago.
Although the police take the two testimonies seriously, they have not led to any further leads at this time.
