Club Brugge held the Conference League draw this afternoon. Captain Hans Vanaken is finally positive towards the opposition.
As group winners, Club Brugge did not have to play a play-off round, meaning they played two fewer midweek matches than KAA Gent and Union SG. Something that could carry a lot of weight in the final bill.
This Friday afternoon, the draw for the round of 16 of the European Conference League was held at the headquarters of the European Football Association in the Swiss city of Nyon. Club Brugge meets Molde. The first leg will be held on Thursday, March 7. The first leg is scheduled to take place the following week, on Thursday, March 14.
Molde plays on artificial turf and Hans Vanaken doesn't like it
In Bruges they can live with the draw they received, as Hans Vanaken confirmed to Sporza shortly after the draw, although he will have to take a closer look at the opposition to know everything about them.
“I don't know the team very well, to be honest. But we did well against Bodø/Glimt, and we hope to do that now also against Molde. He's one of the best opponents we could face, so I'm satisfied.
Although there is also one thing he is not satisfied with, he agrees with it. The captain concluded his speech by saying: “We will play on artificial turf again, which is not nice.”
