Vincent Kompany left his mark even before kick-off. The new Burnley boss had a starting point in store for old acquaintances Josh Cullen, Taylor Harwood-Bellis (both formerly from Anderlecht) and Samuel Bastian (former Standard). Vitino (former Circle Brugge) was allowed to debut with a replacement.
Kompany’s hand was not only visible on the match sheet. Clarett admired his attacking football at times. Huddersfield could not claim victory at any time.
The new coach looked relieved, but he couldn’t resist putting his coaching skills in the spotlight. For example, he urged his players with obsessive gestures to apply more pressure.

Kompany watched when the Chelsea mercenaries decided the match with a handsome spot ball. As a result, Burnley leads the championship for at least one day.
