Xbox delivers strikes against illegal behavior

Every Xboxer has had to deal with it at some point. Players who cross the line. Xbox wants to do better than that.

I had to deal with it this week. A message in my conversation states that I have a disease associated with Down syndrome. From those keyboard jockeys with a little dick who have nothing to say at home but suddenly have to belittle and berate everyone on Xbox. You can actually report someone, but Xbox doesn’t think that’s enough.

The new system that Xbox will use wants to have an educational impact. The more often you cross the line, the greater the effect. As a player you can go over the edge eight times. Any violation will be kept for six months. Each notification will lock you out of all social features on Xbox.

Microsoft indicates that it will create more systems and tools that enable gamers to treat each other with respect. Xbox should be a place where bullying and bullies become a thing of the past, if that’s some kind of utopia. They also want to show clarity on how this works, when certain actions will affect their gameplay, how this might escalate and when their account will be restored.

The so-called method of strikes will be introduced. Each app receives alerts that vary in severity based on the severity of the activity. As a player, you will also receive an overview of your enforcement history, including violations and how they affect your player record. This will give you a better idea of ​​how severe your violations are and how that stacks up against multiple violations. Hopefully, this will influence behavior.

If you think you’ve seen a violation of the Xbox Community Standards, Xbox asks that you report it. Reports are always reviewed, and there is no automated system. Only those reports that the Xbox Safety Team has reviewed and marked as valid will trigger action.

Strikes, which you can compare to the points system on your driver’s licence, are applied according to the severity of your actions. For example, if you receive two warnings, you will be suspended for one day, and the player who scored four strikes will be suspended for seven days. Players can commit a total of eight violations and if you reach that point, you will not be allowed to chat or chat with your Xbox friends in chat for a year. These violations will continue for six months.

Starting today, everyone starts with a clean slate. You should still not hold the existing one, and the new one will now enter the strike system. With this new model, Xbox wants to make sure that the problem is there. Therefore, you can continue to play the single player games and the content you have purchased remains in your possession. The account can only be fully suspended for serious activity.

In 2022, less than 1% of all players received a temporary suspension and only a third of those received a second suspension.
