The husband of a woman who was found dismembered last week in the urban park of Petis-Chaumont in Paris was taken into custody on Thursday morning. A source close to the investigation confirmed this after a report by Le Parisien newspaper.
The victim is a 46-year-old mother from Seine-Saint-Denis. Her husband reported her missing on February 6.
A plastic bag containing the woman’s pelvis and thighs, which was later identified by analysis of her fingerprints, was discovered on February 13 under a pile of green waste in Batis-Chaumont Municipal Park.
The next day, other remains, including the head, were found during a thorough search in the large park in northeastern Paris, which is popular with walkers.
The husband is being interrogated as part of a judicial investigation opened last Friday on charges of premeditated murder, violating the integrity of the corpse and concealing a corpse.
