For Barcelona, the first European match without Messi was not a gift: immediately against Bayern Munich, the team that lost 2-8 a good year ago. Back then, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, boys like Memphis Depay and Luke de Jong now have to take care of the Camp Nou goals.

Soon the difference between the two teams became clear. After just half an hour, Muller was lucky to score the opening goal, and in the second half Robert Lewandowski quickly doubled the score. Five minutes before the end, Lewandowski completely closed the books: 0-3.

A disappointment for the Belgian fans who crossed the border in Lille to watch the Lille-Wolfsburg match. At Wolfsburg, Sebastian Bornau, Aster Franks and Dodi Lucbakio started on the bench. So of the four Belgians at Wolfsburg, only Quinn Castells had a kick-off. Lille midfielder Amadou Onana also started playing on the bench.

In the end we saw more Belgians playing. Bornau and Lukbakio joined Wolfsburg, and Amadou Onana joined the team in Lille. Unfortunately we couldn’t see any other targets.
