Facebook’s mum dead settles Trump campaign case | Abroad

Facebook users sued the company in 2018. This came after it was revealed that the British research agency – which was linked to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign – had access to the data of up to 87 million members of the social network. Trump used Cambridge Analytica to “target” Facebook users. Carl Racine, the District Attorney for the Washington, D.C. District, called the incident “the largest consumer privacy scandal in the nation’s history.”

It was recently announced that Meta President Mark Zuckerberg has been questioned for at least six hours by the plaintiffs’ attorney. According to Facebook, users cannot assume that information shared on the platforms will remain private.

If Facebook’s parent company had lost the case, it might have had to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation. Because of the agreement, Zuckerberg and other Facebook leaders now do not have to testify. A settlement must be worked on in the near future. The case is currently suspended. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
