Hideo Kojima’s new podcast isn’t for everyoneFortunately, this is not the only place we can go for development stories about the games he worked on. Like this about a very boring idea for Metal Gear Solid 3.

The last episode of Do you know the games?– Only repeated by Snake’s original voice actor, David Hayter – It’s all about the content cut from the series, based on information released in old interviews (great love for quotes from Hyper) and books. There are things on the guns that were very exciting, story elements that were never made, and game sequences that were cut and then made into cinematic scenes.

However, the funniest and most interesting part of the video is the one about the planned boss battle Metal Gear Solid 3In the test then it ended up very badly by the developers Kojima booed them. Here’s the story Around Kotaku AU:

The story says that during production Metal Gear Solid 3Kojima was fascinated by the work of novelist Stephen Hunter, who wrote: sniper chief and the Impact point, about snipers hiding in the mountains and gradually trying to catch each other. Kojima’s idea was that the Snake Boss fight with The End would be as close as possible to a real sniper battle and that it would be played in real time over a two-week period. The player must use his environment to stay hidden and still, searching for clues in a huge area to determine where The End is hiding, and once located, prepare the perfect shot. Once again, this will end real two weeks.

The crazy thing is that this boss fight has already reached the prototype stage. It was a real part of a playable build at one point. However, when it came time for the martial test, no one who played in it was able to find any trace of the old man. Many players spent hours searching for The End and didn’t show anything, effectively hindering their progress through the game. The team found the fight so boring that they mocked Kojima and persuaded him to drop the idea altogether.

I want to believe that this is the entire experience of working with Kojima compressed into one anecdote. You can watch the full video below; Maybe you already knew something about this, or maybe, like me, you knew almost nothing and deserve 42 minutes of really interesting stuff!
