A US Navy military plane crashed into the waters at Kaneohe Bay Military Airport in Hawaii. During landing, the pilot was unable to stop quickly enough, causing the plane to fall into the water. The nine crew members had to swim back to land on their own, but they were unharmed. It is still unclear exactly how the accident occurred, but heavy fog may have been the cause. The military aircraft is used as a reconnaissance tool to monitor submarines, among other things.
