On Wednesday, February 21, Het Boodschappenhoekje will start something new: quilting! You know how it's done, sew pieces of fabric together with stuffing in between, and that's how you make a beautiful blanket. It's the perfect blend of beauty and function, from vintage bedding to modern art.
When quilting, we'll put three layers of fabric together: the top layer, which can be a whole piece of fabric or a mixture of smaller pieces, a middle layer for volume and warmth (choose a synthetic or natural material like cotton or wool), and a bottom layer of cotton. We sew them together with fine stitches, which create not only strength, but also beautiful decoration.
Quilting classes are held every Wednesday afternoon from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Everyone is welcome! Enterprise customers participate for free, non-customers pay just €2.00. We are at Bivouac 1, first floor (entrance at the back). Just come in!
