The production designer and set designer was commissioned to design the “Barbie Dreamhouse” at Warner Bros. Pictures. Studio, just outside London. The main character, Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, lives in this dream house. The director insisted that everything on the set be pink to “preserve the childishness”.

“I want the pink to be so bright and it’s going to be too much. I want to remember why I loved Barbie when I was a little girl.” So the fluorescent shade of Roscoe paint was almost completely bought out. “The world is out of pink,” says the production designer.

In the official trailer, which was released recently, it is revealed that the pink color is reflected not only in the clothes and furniture, but also in the rest of the collection. A peek at the “Barbie Dreamhouse” shows a pink slide that leads to the pool, a pink shower, a pink bed, and tons of pink accessories. To create a sense of authenticity for the set, director Greta used a hand-drawn backdrop of skies and mountains instead of CGI.

Since the promo, “Barbiecore” has also gone viral on social media. Fans were in awe at getting their hands on all sorts of pink outfits and items. For example, the hashtag “Barbiecore” on TikTok has been viewed over 300,000 million times.
