A criminal trial against Trump for allegedly influencing the election results will begin next week

Attorney Fannie Willis is beginning a two-year investigation into whether former President Donald Trump and his allies broke the law by trying to sway the 2020 election in the US state of Georgia in favor of Republicans, according to CNN and others. A spokeswoman for Attorney General Willis has yet to respond to a request for comment.

After losing the 2020 presidential election, Trump sought to reverse the outcome in the key swing state of Georgia. There he fell short by more than eleven thousand votes.
