The prince said about the rumors that he was getting a divorce from Victoria: “It was a bad and false rumor and it had a huge impact on us.” In February 2022, the Swedish court denied those rumours. The couple is still married. “I don’t think any reasonable person believes these rumors anymore,” Daniel told interviewer Karina Bergfeldt.

The Swedish prince also has no problem being in his wife’s shadow. “I know what my role is and I can live with it,” he says. Daniel says he’s trying to help Victoria as best he can with her work. He admires the way she carries out her duties. “Victoria is great. She has a great relationship with people and is able to reassure them. I can enjoy it, but I also try to make my contribution.”
